Reiki

Reiki, is a type of healing by energy through the hands of an expert therapist in this discipline. This natural form of healing was given its name by its highest representative: Mr. Mikao Usui. Rei meaning the universal energy that nourishes us, and Ki, the vital energy that we each possess as individuals.

In this treatment, the hands are placed in different positions throughout the body for 3-5 minute periods at a time, resulting in a total of 30-60 minutes per session. It is used to eliminate pains, to balance overall health, to unblock emotional energies in the body or to help during long treatments of diagnosed diseases. Reiki benefits a human at three different levels: body, mind and spirit.

The beginning of Reiki was based on Hindu knowledge with respect to the chakras: energetic centers throughout the body affect the effectiveness of its functions. Therefore, the unblocking of each chakra brings about harmony for proper overall functioning, resulting in the improvement of health and strength as well as peace and tranquility for the mind, ultimately, elevating the spirit.

With proper knowledge, training, and consciousness, Reiki can be practiced on oneself or others, even from a far away distance.
